A dry red wine crafted from a blend of Marquette from our farm vineyards, aged in oak and blended before a year of pre-release bottle aging. The nose is more playful with aromas of black tea and strawberry jam while the palate offers notes of dark cocoa, wild black raspberry, tobacco, and campfire smoke.
Grape information: Made from 100% FTF-grown Marquette grapes. In terms of cultivation this grape is outstanding: not only is it highly disease resistant and cold hardy, but it’s growth-pattern is very organized, and makes for easier vine management. It’s no surprise that this cousin of the Frontenac grape and “grandchild” of Pinot Noir is growing in popularity and prestige across colder wine regions.
Suggested Pairings: Latin-spiced rice and beans, roasted stuffed peppers, olive tapenade, aged cheeses such as a 5-year gouda or cloth-bound cheddar.
