It’s a Fresh Tracks Funky Folk Festival!

It’s going to be a music-packed Summer, folks! We have our Vermont Vineyard Music Tour kicking off next week (on Thursday the 20th) with Bill Sims Jr, Mark Lavoie, and the Eleva Chamber Players Orchestra. But the fun doesn’t stop there. A mere 30 days later, on Saturday, July 20th, we’ll be hosting an all-afternoon FOLK MUSIC FESTIVAL! Local stars Karen Krajacic, Derek Burkins, and Phil Henry will take the stage one at a time, starting at 2:00 pm and playing until 6:00. Click on their names and be taken to the musician web pages!

Biographies for each musician listed below:

Karen Krajacic: Multi-instrumentalist/singer-songwriter Karen Krajacic has become an integral part of the VT music scene since putting down roots in the state four years ago. After 12 years of touring and recording as the lead vocalist and songwriter of Folk By Association, she has embarked on the next phase of her musical career with “The Solace EP“, a 6-song album comprised of five new compositions and a special bonus track- the rerecording of “Penny in a Jar”, a song she wrote in 1999 which was included on FBA’s 2003 self-titled debut.

Derek Burkins: Vermont singer/songwriter Derek Burkins continues to capture praise and new listeners every time he takes the stage. With fluid guitar and banjo work, and an authentic and emotive voice, his songs are thoughtful stories about life, love, and family. Derek was the winner of the 2012 SolarFest Singer/Songwriter Showcase, and has just released his debut solo album, “Ten Years and 29 Days.”

Phil Henry: Phil Henry is the real thing. He crafts old-school story songs so rich and sweeping you’ll wish you wrote them yourself. A formally trained musician, he builds strange, beautiful chords and a big acoustic sound, played on instruments he often makes by hand. He’s played the big stages – Kerrville, Falcon Ridge – and won song contests like SolarFest and Susquehanna.
